QuranScroll
Privacy Policy
Effective 31 October 2026
QuranScroll is a Quran reading app for Android, published by MapleCan Technologies Inc. This policy explains what the app does with information on your device.
The short version: QuranScroll does not collect, store on a server, sell or share any personal data.
No account, no tracking
QuranScroll has no sign-in and no account. It contains no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting or tracking software.
Information that stays on your device
The app keeps the following on your device only, to provide its features:
- Your reading progress, daily goals, streaks and streak freezes
- Your bookmarks and your position in the Quran
- Your settings, such as translation, reciter and text size
- If you turn on app blocking, the list of apps you chose to block
None of this leaves your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
App blocking permissions
App blocking is optional. If you turn it on, QuranScroll asks for:
- Usage access (
PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS), to detect when an app you chose to block comes to the foreground. - Display over other apps (
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW), to show the reminder screen on top of that app.
To let you choose what to block, the app reads the list of launchable apps installed on your device. Usage information and the app list are processed on the device, only to enforce the blocking you set up. They are never stored off the device, transmitted or shared.
A foreground service runs while blocking is active so that it keeps working in the background and after a restart. Android shows an ongoing notification while it runs.
Network access
The Quran text, translations and transliteration are bundled with the app and work offline. When you play a recitation, the audio is streamed from the Islamic Network content delivery network (cdn.islamic.network). As with any web request, that server receives your device's IP address in order to deliver the audio. QuranScroll sends it no other information.
Sharing
When you share an ayah, the app hands the text to the Android share sheet. What happens next is up to the app you choose.
Children
QuranScroll is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
